Stress Baking

So I learned something about myself during this COVID times. Apparently, baking helps me deal with stress. Crazy project timeline at work meant that I was baking this weekend! Decided to try something besides my usual chocolate chip cookies – snickerdoodles!

Went to my favorite recipe website, All Recipes and found a super popular one for snickerdoodles – Mrs. Sigg’s Snickerdoodles Recipe. Had to do some substitutions, since I didn’t have shortening or cream of tartar. Turns out, All Recipes also has this handy cheat sheet for substitutions – of course I saved that immediately for future use! Turned out well enough (at least it was hubby approved). I used my usual hack of baking them in a mini muffin pan for easy eating.

Of course, I didn’t escape without a small casualty of war – a slight burn. It’s always a 50/50 shot of whether or not I accidentally burn myself. I pretty much don’t even notice it anymore.
