“You might’ve been switched at birth”

There’s a couple of DNA tests out there that will tell you the different ethnicities/origins of your genetics. I’ve never really been interested, since I figured my family hasn’t really had a great mix of ethnicities in our background. But, my sister decided to do the 23 and me one. I figure, her results would be mine, so that works!

We were at dinner with my parents when she shared her results for her to discuss. I think it was something like 99.9% Vietnamese, and 0.1% some Chinese subsect. My mom (who likes to troll us all the time) comments “Well, I guess you could be my daughter.”

My sister: Thanks, Mom.

Mom: but you, Miu – you might not be.

Me: wait what?!

Mom: well, in Vietnam, hospitals weren’t organized like they are here. They could’ve easily mixed you up with another baby.

Me: *dying of laughter* Dad, really?

Dad: no, no……You were with us the entire time.

Mom: Except for when they took her to get cleaned up.

Dad: well…

Me: *laughing* so what about all the times people said I look like dad?

Mom: they’re just being nice. But don’t worry, I still love you anyway, even if you’re not mine!

The entire table is dying of laughter at this point. Thanks, Mom, love you too. That’s my mom for you, ladies and gents. You gotta be able to keep on your feet, but there’s always love and laughter in this family.
