So the more I “adult”, the more I learn. Decided to do a quick post on things I never knew until later in life, but definitely would’ve been nice to know once I was on my own.
- Flush your toilets at least once every two weeks, otherwise this weird black mold could grow and it’s just bad news. Applies if you’re going to go on a long trip, or happen to have a bathroom you don’t use often.
- Run your car at least every two weeks or the battery will die.
- If you have a fireplace, use it at least once a year, or they’ll break.
- Run all appliances every once in a while, or they’ll break.
- Vinegar is awesome as a cleaning agent and for getting rid of rust and spots on things like baking trays and metal things. Also a great disinfectant for baby toys, humidifiers, etc.
- Hydrogen peroxide can help remove small blood stains from clothes and fabrics.. Definitely useful if you’re a klutz like me!
- Mr. Clean sponges are melamine sponges – if you buy the generic, you’ll save a ton of money.
