So I’ve discovered that you gotta have a strong sense of self-image if you’re going to be a parent. A baby is going to find all your “problem” spots and target it. Generally, I just find it hilarious, but I can definitely see how others might not!
For example, a few weeks ago, I’m laying on the ground to play with Goober. He comes over, reaches directly under my chin and just pets it…like I had a double chin or something. Well, I don’t have one (or at least I didn’t think I did!).
Fast forward to a day earlier this week – Goob is standing next to me, looks up to where my shirt is riding up slightly because I was reaching for something, and squeezes my muffin top.
I’m happy to say, it’s not just me he makes feel self conscious! He goes up to my hubs and slaps/pets his tummy a lot.
I read a lot of stories about embarrassing things kids say because they have no filter or don’t know any better. I better prepare myself for things like “why is your tummy sticking out?” in public!
