Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been feeling a little under the weather so have been sleeping any chance I get rather than writing! Anyways, I tried a new recipe today. Caramel Apple Spice, like from Starbucks, using this recipe.
I used Treetop apple juice and Hershey’s caramel sauce, but did make the cinnamon dolce syrup from the recipe.. funny moment for this beginner in the kitchen – recipe says that you should hear the syrup until it has a syrup consistency. I didn’t know what that meant, so I took another syrup I had and rolled around the bottle to see how it acted. Honestly, I still don’t know what that consistency is versus just juice or water or something..
Verdict? It was delicious! My hubs says he likes it better than Starbucks because it tastes less artificial. I just like having another option for a non caffeinated drink.

Interestingly enough, the clear juice did turn a little foggy – more like cider looking. I did have to keep stirring it as I drink, so it makes me wonder if I should’ve heated everything longer and if that would’ve made everything mix better. Next time! Also, sorry for the boring pic – I had a bit of an accident attempting to get it (you can see the splash on my hand), so boring it is!
