I realized something the other day as I was walking in to work from my garage – there’s a few things now that are popular that must’ve been inspired by baby clothing! The item I’m thinking of in particular are baby onesies. Have you ever thought about how women’s bodysuits are basically baby onesies? Don’t get me wrong, the women really look good in them. But I saw a colleague walk into work wearing a maroon bodysuit and jeans. It looked almost identical to the maroon onesie and jeans that I put my son in the other day. And the thought made me smile.
Another item that’s familiar? The “trendy”? onesie pajamas and costumes for Halloween that adults wear. That’s definitely like the cute onesies that my son wears. We have characters on them, footed ones, and even ones with hoodies for him. And isn’t that exactly what adults are wearing too? Now I’m wondering what other baby/toddler items can be repurposed into adult use. If I can figure it out, maybe I can do a side hustle!
