So things are a little better now, but the only reason I don’t use a Mac is because of Microsoft Office. The usability just isn’t the same on a Mac, and there are some defaults in a Windows machine that make more sense.
For example, a couple of years ago, we found out that Office on Mac doesn’t have the autosave function pre-set. Something happened to my husband’s computer and he lost a ton of work he did for school at the time. That’s when we learned that you apparently have to manually go in and set a folder for Office to save temporary and autosaved files to. Harsh lesson.
Other times, even today, my husband will ask me how to do something (I guess you can view me as a power user of most Microsoft Office products), and I try to show him, but it’s not easy to find in a Mac. A lot of times, I end up telling him to just send me the file and I’ll do it for him.
Beyond those hiccups, I don’t really care if I have a Mac or Windows machine! When I was a student and as long as I need a personal machine to do some business projects, Windows wins.
